Ogun 2027: Lawmaker urges supporters to abort premature electioneering

A senator representing Ogun West senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Solomon Adeola (Yayi), has appealed to his supporters to refrain from erecting campaign billboards and posters ahead of the official commencement of political activities for the 2027 Ogun State governorship race.
Mr Adeola made the appeal in a statement on Tuesday in Abeokuta by his media adviser, Kayode Odunaro.
The senator said that his attention had been drawn to the erection of billboards and circulation of posters in parts of the state by supporters promoting his governorship ambition.
Expressing appreciation for their support and confidence in his leadership capacity, he cautioned against premature campaigns.
“I have been informed of the sighting of billboards and posters erected by supporters and groups in parts of the state soliciting support for my aspiration for Ogun 2027.
“As a loyal party member who is fully cognisant of the processes and traditions of our great party, I am yet to declare my intention, as I await the party’s timetable and further consultations,” he said.
Mr Adeola urged his supporters to align with due process and established political guidelines, noting that his political approach had always been rooted in grassroots engagement and respect for laid-down rules.
He assured them that their support and sacrifices would not be taken for granted.
He said, “I appreciate the time and resources expended by my supporters in advancing my cause, and I assure them that their commitment is deeply valued.”
The senator further urged his supporters to remain calm, loyal and law-abiding while awaiting official directives from the party regarding the electoral process.
