David Mark @78: “ADC’s challenges surmountable,” party chairman assures members

A former Senate President David Mark has assured members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that the ongoing internal developments pose no threat to the party’s stability.
Mr Mark, who is the ADC national chairman, said this during his 78th birthday thanksgiving message in Abuja on Wednesday.
He noted that challenges were inevitable in the growth of political institutions and emphasised that unity, resilience, and shared commitment remain central to overcoming difficulties within the party.
“I wish to assure our members and Nigerians at large that there is no cause for alarm—challenges are a natural part of any growing institution.
“What is important is our collective resolve to overcome them. We remain united, determined, and focused on strengthening the party and upholding democratic values,” he said.
He reaffirmed the party’s dedication to democracy and pledged continued efforts to strengthen institutions to ensure that governance delivers meaningful benefits and development to all Nigerians.
The chairman stressed that discipline, integrity, and patriotism would guide the party’s actions as it works tirelessly to safeguard democratic structures and promote national progress across Nigeria.
Reflecting on his 78th birthday, Mr Mark said that his resolve remained firm and expressed renewed commitment to advancing national unity, peace, and sustainable progress for the country.
“At 78, my resolve remains unshaken. I am inspired more than ever to contribute my quota to national unity, peace, and progress,” Mark stated.
He expressed gratitude to God for life and guidance, acknowledging many blessings while appreciating the support of family members throughout his public journey.
He thanked friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their steadfast encouragement, noting that their support remained a vital source of strength through challenging and defining moments.
