Man, 35, arraigned over alleged attempted stealing

A 35-year-old man, Tobiloba Robert, on Thursday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly entering into the office of a complainant with intent to steal.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on a one-count charge of attempt to commit the felony of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 3, at about 12:20 p.m. at No 1, Alhaji Sule Maito St. Ikorodu.
Mr Famuyiwa alleged that the defendant entered into the office of a complainant, Gbolu Olabode, without lawful authority, with intent to steal, adding that he was however, apprehended .
The offence contravenes the provisions of Section 406 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, A.O Ogbe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety in like sum.
He ordered that the address of the surety must be verified.
The court adjourned the case until May 5, for mention. (NAN)
