U.S. President Donald Trump, on Saturday, said the United States’ ‌military troops have sunk all of Iran’s minelaying ships, and are now clearing the Strait of Hormuz.

“We’re now starting the process of clearing out the Strait of Hormuz,” Mr Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, adding that “all 28” of Iran’s “mine dropper boats are also lying at the bottom of the sea.”

Last Sunday, Mr Trump threatened to visit hell on Iran within 48 hours by attacking civilian infrastructure inside the Islamic republic, including bridges and power plants, if Iranian authorities failed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 24 hours.

However, the U.S. president halted the planned action, citing an intervention by Pakistani authorities. Following the development, Mr Trump ordered a two-week ceasefire, while negotiations proceed between Iran and the U.S.

Earlier on Saturday, representatives from the U.S. and Iran began talks hosted by Pakistani authorities in Islamabad on amid the ongoing ceasefire.
