Bandits: Katsina assembly approves N1 billion for regional security fund

The Katsina State House of Assembly has approved a N1 billion contribution to the Regional Security Trust Fund to strengthen security across northern Nigeria.
The approval followed consideration of a request from Gov. Dikko Radda, seeking legislative consent in line with constitutional provisions.
Speaker Nasir Yahaya-Daura announced the resolution after majority leader Shamsudden Abubakar Dabai read the governor’s correspondence on the assembly floor.
According to the document, the state government will provide N300 million, while the 34 local councils will contribute N700 million.
Following deliberations, the House unanimously approved the request, directing the Clerk to transmit the resolution to the executive for implementation.
In a related development, the assembly urged urgent action on erosion along the Eka–Kadandani–Kuraye–Yargamji road.
Lawal Isah-Kuraye, representing Charanci Constituency, said the road was constructed by the administration of former Governor Aminu Masari in 2017.
