Former vice president and presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, has revealed that he would reverse every action and policy carried out by President Bola Tinubu if he becomes Nigeria’s president in 2027.

During an interview on Arise Television’s programme, Prime Time, on Wednesday night, the ADC presidential aspirant said he feels “terribly disappointed” in Mr Tinubu.

Asked by the presenter what single thing Mr Tinubu is doing that he would need to reverse if he becomes president, Mr Abubakar said, “Everything is wrong with president Tinubu.”

When asked further whether he would sweep away everything the president had done, he stated, “Everything is wrong with President Tinubu; honestly, in my life, this is the worst administration that I have seen in this country. I feel terribly disappointed.”

Mr Abubakar, a former ally of Mr Tinubu, joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in 2025 to wrest federal power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and unseat the president.

Messrs Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rauf Aregbesola, Rotimi Amaechi, David Mark, Nasir El-Rufai, and other political elites in the country joined the ADC between late 2025 and early 2026 to form a coalition to unseat Mr Tinubu, who was elected into office in 2023 and is seeking re-election in 2027.

Aside from Messrs Obi and Mark, Messrs Abubakar, Aregbesola, Amaechi, El-Rufai, and several others in the ADC coalition were Mr Tinubu’s allies at some point in their political lives.

Mr Abubakar contested for the presidency in 2007 under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), which was formed by Mr Tinubu.

Mr Aregbesola was a commissioner in Mr Tinubu’s government from 1999 to 2007 when the latter was governor of Lagos State.

Messrs El-Rufai and Amaechi joined Mr Tinubu in a political coalition that led to the formation of the APC in 2014. The APC eventually defeated the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 presidential election when its flagbearer, late President Muhammadu Buhari, won against then-incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.
