Bandits have killed a pastor in Adamawa after invading Zinai village in Bolki.

Bolki is in Song local council. The police identified the pastor as Emmanuel Ezeoikwe.

In a statement on Thursday by the police command in Adamawa, its spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said the attack occurred on Tuesday.

“On the 21st of April, 2026, the command received a distress report from one Amos Sunday of the same community, that at about 2:00 a.m. on the same date, suspected gunmen invaded the village and shot the victim.

“Police operatives of the command swiftly moved to the scene, where they found the lifeless body of the victim and rushed him to a hospital.

“He was, however, confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while the corpse was deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy,” the police statement explained.

Mr Nguroje said preliminary findings led to the recovery of three empty AK-47 shells at the scene.

He further urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with authorities by providing credible information that could aid the investigation, adding that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
