Remi Tinubu salutes Nigerian workers’ resilience, dedication to national growth

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has commended Nigerian workers for their resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions to national growth.
In her message commemorating Labour Day 2026 on Friday, Mrs Tinubu described workers as the backbone of the nation’s progress and the driving force behind economic development.
”On this year’s Workers’ Day, I extend my warm greetings and deep appreciation to all the workers across our great nation.
”I commend the role of our trade unions in advocating for the well-being of our workers, and I appreciate your cooperation in strengthening our workforce,” she said.
The first lady emphasised the crucial role workers in both private and public sectors play in national development.
”Today, we celebrate the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of our workers, whose daily efforts drive the growth and development of our country.
”From our public servants to private sector professionals, artisans, entrepreneurs, and all those who labour tirelessly, you are indeed the backbone of our nation’s progress. Happy Workers’ Day to all Nigerians,” she said.
Mrs Tinubu recently launched a N1.2 billion palliative support programme, including 100 trucks of rice, in Kaduna State, targeting vulnerable households across 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
She also visited Borno and Kano states and is currently in Niger.
