Troops kill four terrorists, destroy camps in Zamfara

Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralised four terrorists and destroyed several camps during a fighting patrol in parts of Zamfara on Friday.

This is contained in an operational report made available to journalists in Abuja.

According to the report, the troops of 1 Brigade Quick Response Force (QRF) conducted the operation on April 29 across Wonaka, Ajja and Gidan Mai Aiki villages.

It stated that contact was made with the terrorists at Ajja Village, where troops engaged them with superior firepower.

“During the encounter, four terrorists were neutralised, while two AK-47 rifles, one locally fabricated handgun, five magazines and 280 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition were recovered,” it said.

The report added that several terrorist camps were also destroyed during the operation.

According to the report, troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain high as operations continue to sustain pressure on criminal elements.
