The African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Sunday, unveiled its 2026 primary election timetable.

In a statement, the ADC national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party’s timetable reflects its “commitment to internal democracy, orderliness and full compliance with electoral guidelines.”

Mr Abdullahi said the party’s nomination forms would be sold from May 5 to May 10, while the submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 11 to May 13.

He stated that the screening of aspirants would take place from May 14 to May 15, while screening results would be published on May 17.

The spokesman said appeals would be heard between May 18 and May 19, 2026, noting that the final list of cleared aspirants would be released on May 20.

Mr Abdullahi said the ADC primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats would be held simultaneously on May 21 at various ward levels.

He disclosed that the party’s governorship primaries are scheduled for May 22, while the presidential primary is scheduled for May 25.

The spokesman noted that the direct primaries would be followed by a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on May 26, and a Special National Convention on May 27, where final ratifications would be effected.

Mr Abdullahi said the ADC leadership approved that the presidential nomination form be sold at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly at N3 million.

“To encourage wider participation, we have introduced concessional rates, offering a 50 percent discount for youths and a 25 percent discount for women and persons with disabilities,” Mr Abdullahi noted.

The party urged members, stakeholders, and aspirants to strictly adhere to all outlined schedules and guidelines.
