A Lagos resident, Aare Feyisayo, has narrated how three armed officers of the Lagos State Police Command hijacked his vehicle at Ajao Junction on April 22, 2026, at Cele Expressway and forced him at gunpoint to transfer N200,000 to a First Bank account they provided.

According to a post on X, on Sunday by @treatpworld, the victim said he was on his way to work on April 22, 2026, when officers at Ajao Junction, alighted from a Korope bus without registration number, seized his car key and pushed him to the back seat before gaining control of his vehicle.

The victim said, “This is the picture of the police criminal gang leader who intercepted me at Ajao junction on Wednesday morning being 22nd of April, 2026, while going to work at exactly 05:55am. I saw a colleague by name Comrade Chinedu. As I cleared to pick him up, they double crossed me with korope bus without reg number.

“They forced my colleague out of my vehicle and forcefully collected my key from me and pushed me to the back seat and three of them jumped inside my vehicle all dressed in police uniform, well armed and one on mask.

“They drove off and turned under NAHCO bridge and headed towards Mile 2. On getting to Cele express, they cleared before the bridge and forced me to transfer the sum of 200k into a named first Bank acct and this transfer was made at gunpoint at exactly 6:29am. Immediately they confirmed the alert, they all jumped down from my vehicle and fled into their korope and zoomed off towards Mile 2.”

Also attaching the receipt of the transaction, the victim claimed to have reported the incident at a police station, showed them the picture of the team leader, but said he had yet to get any update from the police.

Responding via a text message to an enquiry on the matter from The Peoples Gazette, command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said the matter would be looked into.

Mrs Abimbola stated, “This will be looked into. Update will be provided. “

In the same vein, the Nigeria Police Force New Media Officer, Aliyu Giwa, under the comment section of the post about the incident on X, directed the Complaint Response Unit to look into the matter.

“Please @PoliceNG_CRU look into this matter. Thank you,” Mr Giwa wrote.
