The National Councillors’ Forum, the Sokoto chapter, has purchased the All Progressives Congress nomination form worth N50 million for Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s 2027 re-election bid.

The forum’s chairman, Nura Umar-Goronyo, presented the cheque to the Sokoto APC chairman, Haruna Adiya, on Monday in Sokoto.

Mr Umar-Goronyo said the decision was taken by 244 councillors in Sokoto to demonstrate their loyalty and support for Aliyu’s good governance.

“The effort is to contribute to his success in the coming election and further demonstrate Gov. Aliyu’s acceptance among citizens across the state,” Mr Umar-Goronyo said.

Mr Adiya commended the forum for its collective resolve, saying it reflected its loyalty to the party and to Aliyu’s leadership.

The party chairman promised to hand over the cheque to the governor and urged him to sustain good stewardship in Sokoto.

He called on party supporters and loyalists to work for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, Mr Aliyu, and other APC candidates.
