INEC resumes CVR registration in Oyo

The Independent National Electoral Commission will resume the third phase of the Continuous Voters Registration across the 33 LGAs of Oyo state on May 11.
The state’s resident electoral commissioner, Adeniran Tella, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
According to Mr Tella, the third phase of the CVR, which ends on July 10, is for online pre-registration and physical registration across the state.
He said that the exercise was in line with the 2026 approved timetable and would also accommodate the rotational movement of INEC Voter Enrollment Device machines across all 33 INEC LGAs’ offices.
The REC said the timing for the exercise, including the rotational movement of IVED machines, would be between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily, excluding weekends and public holidays.
He also stated that prospective registrants could visit the commission’s state office and any of its offices across the 33 council areas within the stipulated time frame for the exercise.
Mr Tella also urged all eligible citizens to take full advantage of the last phase of the CVR to register.
He added that those who wanted to change their polling units or voting state should take the opportunity at hand.
The REC urged registrants who had not yet collected their Permanent Voter Cards to do so.
