Plateau airlifts 1,138 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

The Plateau State Government says it successfully airlifted of 1,138 pilgrims from the state to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 hajj.

The Executive Secretary, Plateau Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Daiyabu Dauda, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Jos.

Mr Dauda said that the final batch of the pilgrims departed the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, via a chartered flight to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to him, the board in collaboration with relevant stakeolders and agencies made adequate arrangements to ensure a hitch-free exercise.

He thanked Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his support and commitment towards the welfare of the pilgrims.

Dauda also urged the pilgrims to be law-abiding and conscious of the spiritual significance of hajj while in the Holy land.
