The Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Johnson Akinpelu, has urged leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said early mobilisation would strengthen the party’s support base and improve its chances in the elections.

Mr Akinpelu made the appeal on Saturday during the Alimosho Federal Constituency meeting of APC leaders at African Church Primary School, Akinogun.

He said the meeting was to formally present candidates for various elective positions, mobilise support for the party and strengthen grassroots campaign activities ahead of the elections.

“We are here to present our candidates for various positions, including Mr Ganiyu Ayuba-Adele for the House of Representatives,” he said.

Mr Akinpelu also named Mr Luqman Orelope for Alimosho Constituency I and Mr Kehinde Joseph for Alimosho Constituency II.

“We are also here to mobilise our members for door-to-door campaigns across the constituency,” he said.

According to him, the 2027 elections are important to the party, hence the need to begin early preparations.

Mr Akinpelu also stressed the need for continued support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He urged party members to enlighten residents on the achievements of the Renewed Hope administration and ongoing economic reforms.

“Another important assignment before us is to continue encouraging our people to support the administration of the president,” he said.

He said members should continue informing residents about government policies and programmes aimed at improving the economy and national development.

Mr Akinpelu expressed confidence in the party’s chances in future elections in the constituency.
