NDLEA uncovers Lekki mansion stashed with drugs, seizes N6 billion cannabis

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it uncovered a mansion in the Lekki area of Lagos allegedly used as a stash house for illicit drugs.
The agency’s spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
Mr Babafemi said operatives of the agency’s special operations unit raided the mansion at 36 African Lane, Lekki Phase 1, on Friday and recovered several items.
“The agency recovered 4,000 parcels of Loud, a strong strain of imported cannabis, weighing 2,326kg and valued at more than N5.8 billion.
“Two Mercedes-Benz buses and various designer sachets used for packaging the drugs for retail distribution were also recovered during the operation,” he said.
Mr Babafemi said NDLEA operatives, in a separate operation on Wednesday, stormed a makeshift skuchies production factory in the Ijora Badia area of Lagos.
He said two suspects were arrested at the scene.
According to him, the suspects were caught cooking cannabis and mixing it with other illicit substances.
Mr Babafemi said officers recovered 270 litres of already produced skuchies and 106g of Tramadol 225mg from the factory.
He said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb the production and distribution of illicit substances across the country.
