Arsenal edge West Ham to push five points clear in Premier League title race

Arsenal secure a tough 1-0 victory against West Ham to move five points clear and at the top of the Premier League table and edge closer to winning their first league title in 22 years.
Sunday’s Premier League clash saw league leaders Arsenal face relegation-threatened West Ham, with the Gunners starting with an intense attacking press.
The Hammers also put in a decent defensive effort to keep the visitors at bay before the break.
After the interval, Leandro Trossard broke the deadlock with a brilliant strike that could prove to be a title-winning goal for Arsenal.
The Belgian was set up by an incredible assist from Martin Odegaard, with the goal ending Trossard’s 25-game scoring drought, while the Norwegian registered his third assist off the bench this season.
Late in added time, tension rose in East London as West Ham thought they had equalised through Callum Wilson following a chaotic corner kick. However, VAR intervened and ruled out the goal for a foul by Pablo Fornals on David Raya.
The decision seals the win for Mikel Arteta’s side pushing the team closer to the Premier League title with two more games to go in the campaign with Burnley at home and Palace away.
The game also affirms an outstanding performance for David Raya with the clean sheet marking his 18th Premier clean sheet of the season.
Meanwhile, West Ham remain in the relegation zone, while the defeat keeps Tottenham Hotspur safe from slipping into the bottom three.
