NAHCON mourns Adamawa pilgrim Aishatu Muhammadu

A statement from the NAHCON on Sunday said that the 73-year old pilgrim suffered a fatal cardiac arrest en route from Jeddah to the holy city of Madinah.

The Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ismail Yusuf, has conveyed deep condolences to the family of Malama Aishatu Muhammadu, a pilgrim from Adamawa State, who died on May 9.

A statement from the NAHCON on Sunday said that the 73-year old pilgrim suffered a fatal cardiac arrest en route from Jeddah to the holy city of Madinah.

It noted that Mr Yusuf conveyed the condolences in a phone call to the brother of the deceased, Umaru Jauro Koko.

“He also prayed that Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. He assured the family of the government’s support in ensuring the safe return of the deceased’s personal effects, including BTA and death certificate, through the Adamawa State Pilgrims Welfare Commission,” the statement said.

It noted that the deceased pilgrim was survived by many children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

It said that among her children was Abdullahi Bello, Divisional Officer, Ganye Division of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
