The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 19-year-old Naziru Alhaji Usman of Tudun Sullubawa over alleged conspiracy and armed robbery in Bara village, Kirfi Local Government Area.

In a statement on Monday, Nafiu Habib, the command’s spokesperson, said the suspect was arrested at about 6:00 a.m. on May 9, 2026.

“On 9th May 2026 at about 0600hrs, one Ibrahim, male of Bara Village, reported to the Bara Police Out Station that in the early hours of the same date, at about 0300hrs, five armed robbers forcefully invaded his residence,” he said.

Mr Habib said the assailants, armed with sticks and cutlasses, assaulted the complainant and carted away several valuables before fleeing the scene.

“Items stolen during the attack included a bow and arrow, five mobile phones, two solar panels, and the sum of N422,000,” he said.

Mr Habib added that upon receiving the distress report, operatives attached to the outstation in Kirfi Division swiftly swung into action.

“Through painstaking intelligence gathering and a prompt response, the team arrested Naziru Alhaji Usman, male, aged 19 years, of Tudun Sullubawa Hamlet via Bara Village, Kirfi LGA,” he said.

He added that the suspect is currently in custody and is providing useful information to aid the investigation, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing accomplices.

Mr Habib said the case would soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi, for discreet investigation, adding that the suspect would be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
