Aspirants seeking nomination under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have been directed to appear with the original copies of their highest academic qualifications for verification, as photocopies will not be accepted.

This was contained in a statement signed by Ejimofor Opara, National Publicity Secretary of APGA.

Mr Opara said the directive was part of the guidelines for the screening exercise ahead of the 2026 primary elections for aspirants from Anambra.

According to him, the exercise will cover aspirants seeking nomination into the National Assembly and the Anambra State House of Assembly.

“Screening for National Assembly aspirants, including those contesting for Senate and House of Representatives seats, is ongoing at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja,” he said.

Mr Opara added that the screening for aspirants vying for seats in the Anambra State House of Assembly would take place on May 12 at the party’s regional office in Awka.

He stated that all screening exercises would commence promptly at 10:00 a.m.

He also emphasised that only members of the screening committee and duly cleared aspirants would be granted access to the venues, advising supporters and associates to stay away to ensure orderliness.

Mr Opara further clarified that the screening exercise was free of charge, warning aspirants against making payments to any individual or group under any guise, while also urging them to report any such demands to the National Secretariat.

He said details of the screening for aspirants from states outside Anambra would be communicated through official party channels in due course.
