Two employees of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, kidnapped on April 29 have been released and reunited with their families.

The management of IBEDC disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

The two victims, Seun Bakare and Idris Salami, were on official duty at Sayeed Farm in Olohunde when they were abducted alongside a fellow staff member, Bisola Owoade, who was later released.

Two weeks after the kidnapping, IBEDC announced the “safe return” of the duo.

“We sincerely appreciate the collaboration of the various security agencies whose coordinated response was instrumental to the release of the affected staff. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, for his personal intervention.

“The support and concern demonstrated by the revered monarch and the Remoland community played a significant role in this positive outcome,” said the power company.
