APC disqualifies ‘Small Alhaji’, 13 other Reps aspirants nationwide

The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, released a list of House of Representatives aspirants disqualified from participating in the party’s direct primary election.

The APC national publicity secretary, Felix Morka in a post on X, said the disqualification followed screening exercise conducted by the party’s screening committees in line with established procedures and guidelines. 

Mr Morka stated that a total of fourteen aspirants from Ondo, Ebonyi, Bauchi, Kogi and Rivers States were not cleared to participate in the primary election.

According to the release, seven aspirants across different federal constituencies in Ondo State were not cleared to participate in the House of Representatives primary election.

The affected individuals are Adefisoye Tajudeen, also known as ‘Small Alhaji’ (Idanre/Ifedore); Olusegun Victor Ategbole (Akoko South-East/South-West); Seun Oluwashina Ajongbolo (Akoko South-East/South-West); Arowole Ayodeji Samuel (Owo/Ose); Morufu Tosin Ibrahim (Akoko North-East/North-West); Oseni Oyeniyi (Akoko North-East/North-West); and Olaleye John Adedipe (Akoko North-East/North-West).

In Rivers State, Air Commodore John Azubuike Opara (rtd) (Port Harcourt Federal Constituency); Hon. Anderson Allison Igbiki (Okrika/Ogu-Bolo Federal Constituency); Awaji Imombek D. Abirite (Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency); and Hon. Boma Goodhead (Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency), were disqualified.

Similarly, the screening committee disqualified Bashir Ibrahim Bello (Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency) from Bauchi State; Idu Igariwe (Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency) from Ebonyi State; and Sanni Salau Ogembe (Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency) from Kogi State.

The APC, however, did not provide further details on the aspirants’ disqualification.
