2027: Buhari’s son Yusuf wins APC Reps primary

Yusuf Buhari, son of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election to contest the House of Representatives seat representing the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency of Katsina State.
In a statement on Saturday, Mr Buhari said he was declared the winner after polling a total of 17,342 votes, defeating Auwal Musa Daura, who scored 480 votes as announced by the election officials.
According to the results, in Daura Local Government Area, Mr Buhari polled 6,386 votes, while his main opponent, Auwal Musa Daura, secured 322 votes.
In Sandamu Local Government Area, Mr Buhari garnered 5,849 votes, while Mr Daura received 21 votes.
In Mai’adua Local Government Area, Mr Buhari secured 5,102 votes, while Mr Daura polled 137 votes.
“Following the conclusion of the exercise, the returning officer officially declared me as the winner of the APC primary election and the party’s candidate for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said in a Facebook post.
Mr Buhari had earlier emerged as the consensus candidate for the constituency ahead of the primary election held on Saturday.
