APC concludes Ekiti senatorial primaries

APC has concluded its senatorial primary elections in Ekiti, producing candidates for the three senatorial districts ahead of the 2027 elections.

The All Progressives Congress has concluded its senatorial primary elections in Ekiti, producing candidates for the three senatorial districts ahead of the 2027 elections.

Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele emerged candidate for Ekiti Central, while Cyril Fasuyi secured the Ekiti North ticket.

Also, Yemi Adaramodu clinched victory in the Ekiti South senatorial district primary election conducted across the wards.

Thechairman of the Primary Election Committee, Asipa Adedoyin, announced the results in Ado Ekiti on Monday night.

Mr Adedoyin declared Bamidele winner of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District primary after polling 29,586 votes as the sole contestant in the exercise.

In the Ekiti North senatorial district’s primary, Mr Fasuyi scored 14,179 votes to defeat former senator, Ayo Arise, who polled 4,868 votes.

Another contender in the Ekiti North contest, Bamisaye Oladipupo, secured 3,694 votes in the closely watched primary election.

In the Ekiti South senatorial district primary, Adaramodu polled 12,200 votes to secure victory over former National Assembly member, Biodun Olujimi.

Ms Olujimi garnered 7,420 votes, while Bamidele Faparusi recorded 5,502 votes in the contest for the party’s senatorial ticket.

Mr Adedoyin commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the three senatorial districts in the state. He described the process as transparent, credible and consistent with the guidelines established by the party for the primary elections.

“The exercise was peaceful, transparent and conducted in accordance with the party’s guidelines,” Mr Adedoyin stated.
