Cristiano Ronaldo scores brace against Damac to win first league title with Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace as Al-Nassr beat Damac 4-1 in Riyadh on Thursday to win the Saudi Pro League title for the first time in seven years on the last day of the season.
Following a 1-1 draw against title rivals Al Hilal last week, Al-Nassr needed to win today to guarantee their position as the champions of Saudi Arabia and Jorge Jesus’ side got the job done.
Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Al-Nassr with a header in the 34th minute before Kingsley Conman doubled the lead for the hosts seven minutes after the halftime break.
Morlaye Sylla reduced the deficit for Damac in the 58th minute after scoring from the penalty, giving his team which needed just one point to avoid relegation some sort of hope.
However, the hope quickly vanished in the 63rd minute when Ronaldo fired home a free kick to restore Al Nassr’s two-goal advantage before netting another from close range in the 81st minute to seal the victory for his side.
It was the 41-year-old’s first major club silverware since the Coppa Italia triumph with Juventus in 2021 and his first major honour for Al-Nassr after he joined the club in 2023.
