Obed Nana, Niger Commissioner for Information and Orientation, has urged construction companies handling projects across the state to improve public notification on road diversions and temporary blockages to ease vehicular movement.

The commissioner made the appeal in a statement issued on Friday in Minna.

Mr Nana called on construction firms to consistently provide adequate public notice and directional signage at construction sites to reduce traffic congestion and inconvenience to motorists and residents.

He commended Governor Umaru Bago for his infrastructural transformation agenda aimed at repositioning the state under the New Niger initiative.

According to him, Minna, the state capital, is already witnessing significant transformation through the construction of modern roads, overhead bridges, underpasses, a remodelled state secretariat, installation of digital streetlights, and other landmark projects.

The commissioner, however, acknowledged that the ongoing projects might temporarily disrupt traffic flow in some areas but noted that the long-term benefits to residents and the state remain invaluable.

He said the ministry would engage relevant authorities to ensure that construction companies maintain effective communication with the public on road closures and alternative routes throughout the duration of the projects.

Mr Nana also appealed to residents and motorists to remain patient, cooperative, and supportive as the government intensifies efforts toward ensuring smoother vehicular movement and successful execution of ongoing New Niger projects across the state.

He assured citizens that the ministry of information and orientation remains committed to supporting the infrastructural development drive and transformation agenda of the Bago administration.
