Tinubu will win even if only APC members vote: Gov Uzodimma

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, on Saturday, expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in 2027, saying he would win comfortably if members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) vote for him.
Mr Tinubu will receive the certificate of return and the APC flag as the party’s 2027 presidential candidate in Abuja on Sunday, following the nationwide collation of the primary election results.
Mr Uzodimma spoke amid a large turnout at the APC presidential primary in the Orlu East Local Government Area of Imo State.
He said, “You can see 35,000 human beings in just one ward in Orlu East Local Government.
“It means that if only our party members vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has already won the election.”
He noted that membership registration “took care of grassroots inclusiveness, and today it is manifesting in our democratic situation in Nigeria.”
Mr Uzodimma stated that it was obvious that Mr Tinubu had done enough and deserved a second term.
“Look at what is happening in the grassroots, how the grassroots has been stimulated, starting from the membership registration, which was done electronically, to the validation of members,” the governor said.
Mr Uzodimma said Nigerians were excited and congratulated the president for “doing politics the way it should be done.”
He urged the opposition to work hard and emulate the ruling APC’s achievements.
“When it becomes their turn, they will elect their own president. But today, I can see that Nigerians are excited,” he added.
