2027: Tinubu’s opponent Stanley Osifo concedes defeat in APC primaries

Stanley Osifo, the main opponent to President Bola Tinubu in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries held nationwide on Saturday, says he has conceded defeat.
In a viral clip seen on Saturday, Mr Osifo said he would never fight his party, adding that he had accepted the outcome of the primary election.
“As a party man and as a member of a front, I don’t have to fight my party and I will never do that. Irrespective of whatever it is that is the outcome of our electoral processes and the primaries, I have to abide with the party,” he said.
Mr Osifo further stated that he would never do anything inimical to the party.
“You know, there are some actions, certain actions people will take. They just want to get you upset, get you angry, to do certain things against your party that you belong to,” he said.
He added that he cherished the party and would never allow anyone to push him into acting against it.
Mr Tinubu is expected to receive the certificate of return and the party’s flag on Sunday as the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.
