Ogun security guards arraigned over alleged conspiracy, felony

Two security guards, Kayode Akinyele, 55, and Mustapha Yissa, 75, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State, over an alleged conspiracy and felony.
The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and felony.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on May 23, at about 3.00 a.m., at Ilogbo, Ota.
Mr Adaraloye alleged that the defendants conspired among themselves, to commit felony by neglecting their duties of taking care of the rams ranch belonging to their employer, Ajibona Taiwo.
He alleged that the negligence resulted in the stealing of two rams valued at N2.1 million, belonging to the complainant.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravene the provisions of Sections 344 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The Magistrate, O.O. Fadairo, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with one surety.
She said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
She added that the surety must be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.
Ms Fadairo adjourned the case until June 11, for further hearing.
