Sallah: FRSC deploys 664 operatives, special patrol team in Katsina

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Katsina Sector Command, has deployed 664 officers and operational logistics across the state to ensure a safe and hitch-free 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Sector Commander, Ali Hinna-Ibrahim, said this in a statement by the sector’s Public Education Officer, DRC Shamsudeen Babajo
He said the special patrol operation, scheduled to run from May 25 to May 30, was designed to reduce road traffic crashes, fatalities and injuries during the festive period.
According to him, the operation will involve 555 regular operatives and 109 special marshals strategically deployed across the state.
Mr Hinna-Ibrahim said that the command also deployed critical operational logistics, including three ambulances, one light-duty tow truck and nine patrol vehicles, to enhance patrol activities and emergency response services.
He said that the patrol teams would cover 23 strategic routes across the state to ensure free flow of traffic and prompt clearance of obstructions on highways.
He added that the command would focus on traffic control and enforcement of major traffic offences commonly associated with road crashes during festive periods.
The sector commander noted that the command would collaborate closely with other security agencies to guarantee a peaceful and successful Sallah celebration.
He urged motorists and other road users to obey traffic rules and regulations and avoid dangerous driving behaviours capable of causing accidents.
He also encouraged members of the public to report road crashes and traffic emergencies through the FRSC toll-free emergency line, 122, or 0700-CALL-FRSC.
The sector commander wished the Muslim faithful a peaceful and safe Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
