The president of the Alumni Association of the National Institute, Emmanuel Okafor, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity, responsive leadership, and tolerance.

In a goodwill message on Wednesday to mark Eid-el-Kabir, Mr Okafor urged citizens across religious and ethnic divides to reflect on the values of sacrifice, faith and compassion associated with the festival.

He said Nigeria’s progress depends on collective commitment to national unity, peaceful coexistence and selfless service to humanity.

The AANI president also charged political leaders to rise above divisive rhetoric and focus on governance that addresses the welfare and aspirations of Nigerians.

“At this critical juncture, leadership must be anchored on solutions, national interest and improving the living conditions of the people,” he said.

Mr Okafor commended the resilience and patriotism of Nigerians amid prevailing security and socio-economic challenges, noting that their faith in the country remained a source of strength.

He also praised members of AANI for their contributions to national development, leadership and peace-building across sectors.

Mr Okafor further saluted the country’s armed forces and other security agencies for their sacrifices and commitment to national security, urging them to sustain efforts in safeguarding lives and property.

He called on all Nigerians to recommit to the ideals of mutual respect, tolerance and unity, stressing that the nation’s diversity should remain a source of strength.

Mr Okafor wished Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
