Gov Adeleke urges residents to embrace sacrifice, compassion

Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged Osun residents to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, love, and compassion that define the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a message issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor congratulated Muslims in Osun and across the country on the occasion.
Mr Adeleke described Eid-el-Kabir as a deeply spiritual season that underscores total submission to the will of Almighty Allah and the need to uphold peace, unity, and kindness in society.
He noted that the festival’s lessons align with his administration’s vision, which is anchored on service, fairness, and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The governor called on residents to use the festive period to assess his administration’s impact across key sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, workers’ welfare, and social development.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance and sustainable progress across all communities in the state.
“As you travel through our towns and villages, I urge you to assess our projects and service delivery. We remain committed to serving you at all times,” he said.
Mr Adeleke also reassured residents of his administration’s dedication to religious harmony, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities for all, regardless of religious or political affiliation.
He further urged Muslim faithful to embody the virtues of patience, tolerance, sacrifice, and generosity as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, noting that such values are essential for building a peaceful and prosperous society.
The governor reiterated his resolve to sustain ongoing development across the state, stressing that governance must continually reflect the aspirations and well-being of the people.
He, however, cautioned against attempts by individuals to exploit religious or political sentiments to create division, adding that the state’s stability and progress result from unity and collective commitment to development.
Mr Adeleke also encouraged citizens to extend support to the needy and vulnerable during the celebration, emphasising that compassion remains central to the message of Eid-el-Kabir.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, I urge all residents to continue to pray for peace, unity, and progress in our state and nation. Together, we will build a better Osun for all,” he said.
