U.S. bank manager Sandra Campfield sentenced to prison for embezzlement
Sandra Campfield, 68, has been sentenced by U.S. district judge William Conley to 21 months in prison and a $50,000 fine for embezzling money as a bank employee.
The prison term will be followed by two years of supervised release.
As part of her sentence, Ms Campfield was ordered to pay $395,103.67 in restitution to the victims of her embezzlement. Ms Campfield pleaded guilty to this charge on February 18, 2026.
Ms Campfield previously worked as the long-time branch manager of a bank in Elroy, Wisconsin.
Between September 2012 and August 2024, she used her position at the bank to steal $351,344 from customer accounts.
Ms Campfield also withdrew $43,758 in foreign currency from the bank’s vault.
At Ms Campfield’s sentencing, the judge expressed concern over the length and depth of Ms Campfield’s embezzlement scheme and her use of “sophisticated methods” to conceal the fraud.
The judge also found it aggravated that Ms Campfield abused her position of authority to commit embezzlement.
