Man United legend David Beckham to get Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Manchester United legend David Beckham is set to be honoured with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in recognition of his contribution to sports entertainment in the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The organisation confirmed the decision in a statement on its official website, stating that the ceremony will take place on June 12 at 6819 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles.
Mr Beckham’s wife, Victoria and actor Tom Cruise are scheduled to be the guest speakers at the ceremony.
“David Beckham will be honoured with the 2,849th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 12th at 10:00 am PT at 6819 Hollywood Boulevard. Beckham will receive his star in the category of Sports Entertainment. Joining emcee Ellen K will be Tom Cruise and Victoria Beckham,” the organisation said.
It added, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the legendary Walk of Fame for the City of Los Angeles and has proudly hosted the globally iconic star ceremonies for decades. Millions of people from here and around the world have visited this cultural landmark since 1960.”
Following stints at Manchester United and Real Madrid, the 51-year-old played in the United States’ Major League Soccer for Los Angeles Galaxy between 2007 and 2012 before returning to Europe.
He transitioned into ownership in the United States after his retirement from football with the establishment of MLS side Inter Miami in 2018.
