The police command in Niger says it arrested a suspect, Abubakar Alfa, with one locally made pistol and a cutlass at Katcha LGA.

This was disclosed on Friday by Wasiu Abiodun, the police spokesman. The suspect was arrested on Monday.

“On 1st June 2026 at about 7pm, Police operatives attached to Katcha Div arrested one Abubakar Alfa with a locally made pistol and a cutlass at a public function,” the police statement said. “Hence, he was arrested and transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation.”
