Aniocha South: Group seeks APC review of Delta assembly primary

The Nigeria Youths in Politics has called on President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to review issues arising from the party’s primary election for the Aniocha South state constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly.
The NYP national chairman, Felix Idowu, made the call in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja.
Mr Idowu said the group had received reports and complaints from some stakeholders regarding the conduct and outcome of the primary election and urged the party leadership to look into the matter.
According to him, some party members and supporters believe that Igbiki Chiedozie emerged as the winner of the exercise and have called for a review of the declared result.
He said addressing concerns arising from the primary would help strengthen confidence in the party’s internal democratic processes.
“We appeal to President Bola Tinubu, the APC national chairman and other party leaders to examine the issues raised by stakeholders concerning the Aniocha South primary election.
“The integrity of party primaries is important to the credibility of democratic processes, and concerns raised by party members should be addressed in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines,” he said.
Mr Idowu urged the APC leadership to ensure transparency and fairness in resolving the matter.
He also said that resolving the dispute through established party mechanisms would reinforce public confidence in the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and youth participation in politics.
The NYP chairman called on party stakeholders in Delta to remain peaceful and allow due process to take its course in addressing the concerns raised over the primary election.
