U.S.-Nigerian military operations eliminated 200 ISIS fighters in North-East: AFRICOM

The U.S. Africa Command on Wednesday said its military onslaught against ISIS terrorists in the North-East region of Nigeria killed 200 terrorists, including ISIS secon-in-command Abu-Bilal al-Minuki.
In a statement on its social page on Wednesday, AFRICOM said, “In continued coordination with Nigeria, conducted operations against ISIS fighters in NE Nigeria.
“No U.S. or Nigerian forces were harmed. The targeted operations eliminated more than 200 terrorists, including Abu-Bilal al-Minuki.”
The development comes as another update on U.S. and Nigerian forces operation in Nigeria in recent months.
In May, it disclosed that airstrikes by the U.S. and Nigerian forces eliminated ISIS second-in-command Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki.
Mr Al-Mainuki, 44, is a Nigerian born in Mainok, Borno State. The U.S. designated him a specially designated global terrorist on June 8, 2023.
