Man arraigned over alleged breach of peace

A 20-year-old man, Abdulmumini Yahaya, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court for alleged breach of peace.
Mr Yahaya, whose address was not given, is being charged with breach of peace and constituting public nuisance, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 11:00 a.m. on May 31, in Ado-Ekiti.
Mr Oriyomi alleged that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace and constitute a public nuisance.
He said that the offence contravened Section 181(1)(d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
Counsel to the defendant, Salau Hassan, urged the court to grant him bail and promised that he would not jump bail.
The chief magistrate, Abayomi Adosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until July 21 for hearing.
