Cross River PDP 2027 governorship candidate urges electorate to vote wisely

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Arthur Archibong, has urged the electorate to vote wisely in the 2027 general elections.
Mr Archibong made the call in a statement on Friday in Calabar to mark Democracy Day, encouraging voters to utilise the power of democracy to elect competent leadership.
According to him, June 12 serves as a reminder that power belongs to the people—won by those who resisted tyranny—and must now be exercised by citizens who reject mediocrity.
The PDP candidate stated that, if elected, he would positively transform the state’s fortunes.
He pledged to serve a single four-year term, with a focus on wealth creation, job opportunities, economic revitalisation, infrastructural development, inclusive governance, accountability, and transparency.
“I appeal to the people of Cross River State to take their destiny into their own hands by voting for a competent leader who will change the current narrative. If elected, I will harness our God-given resources and potential for the benefit of the masses,” he said.
Mr Archibong also promised to revitalise moribund hospitals and improve the welfare of neglected citizens across the state.
“For too long, Cross Riverians have watched from the sidelines. For three years, we have seen promises without projects, noise without results, and intimidation instead of accountability.
“Our roads are failing, our hospitals are empty, our people are neglected, and our communities abandoned. That is not democracy; that is drift. Though our democracy may appear dormant in Cross River, it is only waiting for us to awaken it.”
