Bandit Attacks: NYSC stops posting of corps members to three Kebbi LGAs

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has stopped posting corps members to some local government areas in Kebbi amid bandit attacks.
The NYSC coordinator in Kebbi, Bala Dabo Kagarko, disclosed this while speaking with journalists at the temporary NYSC orientation camp in Basura, Jega LGA.
Mr Kagarko said the scheme would no longer post corps members to Augie, Arewa and Sakaba council areas to ensure their safety.
He also said the NYSC requested that its orientation camp be relocated from Dakingari to the temporary camp in Basura, Jega, due to the deteriorating security situation.
According to him, the number of corps members posted to Kebbi has dropped drastically.
“We no longer have doctors to post to the state hospitals, not enough corps members to post to schools and other areas where they are needed to contribute to the development of the state,” he said.
“Kebbi now has the least number of corps members in the country. Several appeals have been made to the right quarters, but we are yet to get their response,” Mr Kagarko explained.
