EkitiDecides2026: INEC distributes election materials to ad hoc officials ahead of governorship poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of election materials to ad hoc officials in Ado Local Government Area of Ekiti State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
At the commission’s office around 4:50 p.m., ad hoc staff were seen verifying their names before receiving sensitive and non-sensitive election materials for deployment to their assigned polling units.
Some officials told the Peoples Gazette they were waiting for their supervisory presiding officers (SPOs) to complete the collection process before departing for their designated registration area centres (RACs), where they will spend the night ahead of Saturday’s poll.
The officials are expected to move from the RACs to their respective polling units early on Saturday to commence voting.
