#EkitiDecides2026: Gov Oyebanji wins at ex-governor Fayose’s polling unit

He polled 448 out of 493 total valid votes cast at the polling unit.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 448 votes to emerge the winner at the polling unit of former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Out of 493 total valid votes cast at polling unit 001, St David Primary School/Maternity Area, Afao, in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) had 37 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded four votes.

A copy of the polling unit’s form EC8A obtained by the Peoples Gazette showed that the number of voters on the register was 931, the number of accredited individuals was 580, and the number of unused ballot papers at the end of the poll was 427.

The presiding officer of the unit, Ahangba Barnabas, who signed the result, noted that it accurately reflected the votes cast in the polling unit.
