The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has thanked the electorates in Ekiti State for their peaceful conduct and commitment to democracy during Saturday’s governorship election.

The election was held across 177 wards in the state’s 16 local government areas, with Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) declared the winner after polling 319,224 votes.

In a post on Sunday, the force said the election was conducted peacefully throughout the electoral process.

“The Nigeria Police Force appreciates the people of Ekiti State for their cooperation, peaceful conduct, and commitment to democracy throughout the electoral process,” the post read.

The force also commended election officials, stakeholders, and security personnel whose efforts helped maintain peace and public order.
