FCC boss congratulates customs CG on tenure extension

The chairperson of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hulayat Omidiran, has congratulated the comptroller-general (CG) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adeniyi, on the extension of his tenure by President Bola Tinubu.
Ms Omidiran described the decision as a recognition of his exceptional leadership, dedication and contributions to national development.
This is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the FCC spokesperson, Ademola Lawrence.
In the statement, Ms Omidiran said the extension reflected the confidence reposed in Mr Adeniyi’s ability to continue driving reforms, strengthening institutional efficiency and advancing the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.
“The extension of your tenure is a testament to your outstanding leadership, dedication and the remarkable progress recorded under your stewardship of the Nigeria Customs Service.
”Your commitment to reforms, accountability and service delivery has continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians and stakeholders,” she said.
Ms Omidiran cited his work on reforms, accountability, revenue generation, trade facilitation and border security as key to Nigeria’s economic growth.
She outlined the important role of the Nigeria Customs Service in supporting government policies, facilitating legitimate trade and contributing to economic stability through efficient operations and innovation.
The FCC chairman wished him wisdom and divine guidance as he began his renewed tenure.
“As you commence this renewed phase of your service, I wish you greater wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance. May your extended tenure bring further achievements and lasting contributions to the growth and prosperity of Nigeria,” she said.
