Four suspects arrested over Gulma farmer-herder clash in Kebbi

The Kebbi State police command has arrested four suspects in connection with the farmers-herders clash in Gulma village, Argungu Local Government Area, which left eight persons dead.
In a statement on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Bashir Usman, said the suspects would be arraigned in court, while efforts were ongoing to track down other individuals linked to the incident.
The suspects were identified as Adamu Madugu of Gulma, Musa Makera of Sauwa, Saidu Adamu of Sauwa, and Shafi’u Hamza of Gulma.
Mr Usman said the suspects would be arraigned before a competent court on charges of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly and culpable homicide.
He added that the command had intensified efforts to identify, arrest and prosecute other suspects currently at large.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Umar M. Hadejia, assured the families of the victims and the general public that the command would pursue the matter to its logical conclusion and ensure that all persons found culpable face the full weight of the law.
He urged residents to remain calm, abide by the law and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
The commissioner added that further updates would be provided as investigations continue.
