Governor Dikko Radda said 32 of the 66 water projects awarded by his administration have been completed, representing 48 per cent completion.

The governor disclosed this on Thursday during the inauguration of the Tsagero Small Town Water Supply Scheme in the Rimi council area.

Mr Radda said the project would provide potable water to residents of Tsagero and neighbouring communities, while improving sanitation, public health, and economic activities.

He described access to clean water as a basic necessity and a key factor in community development.

The governor said the state government was investing heavily in the water sector by constructing and rehabilitating water facilities across the state.

Mr Radda added that ongoing interventions include Phase 1B of the Zobe Water Supply Project; rehabilitation of water treatment plants and reservoirs; installation of pumps and valves; and expansion of small-town water schemes.

He said additional support was being provided through development partners, including the World Bank-supported SURWASH and SPIN projects.

The governor noted that the government had also begun constructing sanitation facilities and household latrines in several communities.

Mr Radda assured residents that additional water projects would be implemented to improve access to safe, reliable water across the state. He urged community leaders and residents to protect and maintain the facility to ensure its sustainability.

The governor commended the Ministry of Water Resources, STOWASSA, contractors, and other stakeholders for their roles in the successful completion of the project.
