Kwankwaso pays courtesy visit to Obasanjo in Kano

Mr Kwankwaso did not disclose the purpose and outcome of the meeting.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Kano State.

Mr Kwankwaso disclosed this in an X post on Friday, stating that he visited the former President along with the NDC governorship candidate in Kano.

“Last night, I paid a courtesy visit to our esteemed leader, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, at his accommodation in Kano.

“I was accompanied by the former deputy governor and our gubernatorial candidate, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo,” he said.

The purpose and outcome of the meeting were not disclosed.

Earlier, Saifullahi Hassan, Kwankwaso’s media aide, said Mr Obasanjo was in Kano on an official assignment.

“Former President Obasanjo is currently in Kano on an official assignment, and the visit provided an opportunity for warm exchanges and constructive discussions,” he wrote.
