Nafiu Habib, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Monday. He said the two eight-year-old girls were killed by an uprooted tree during a rainstorm at about 5:40 p.m. on Monday.

“According to a report received at Burra Divisional Police Headquarters, on 29th June 2026 at about 1740hrs, from the Officer-in-Charge, Bashe Police Outstation, there was a downpour accompanied by a violent windstorm at about 1600hrs in Bashe Village.
