Court remands man, 42, for alleged murder

An Oyo State High Court, Ibadan Division, on Thursday remanded a 42-year-old man, Taiwo Oluwole, in a correctional facility for alleged murder.
Oluwole, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Justice Oluwaseun Ademola-Salami consequently remanded Oluwole in a correctional facility and adjourned the case until October 14 for further hearing.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Olaoluwa Okunrotifa, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offences on May 8 at about 1.30 p.m. in the Apata area of Ibadan.
Mr Okunrotifa alleged that the defendant and others still at large unlawfully caused the death of one Olajide Ojo, 41, by stabbing him in the head with broken bottles.
He said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 319 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The prosecutor prayed the court to remand the defendant in custody pending trial.
