The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has appointed Tinuke Temitope as the chamber’s pioneer deputy director-general.

The chamber’s president, Emeka Obegolu, announced the appointment during the sixth executive committee and council meeting on Friday in Abuja.

Mr Obegolu said the appointment took effect on July 1, 2026, and would help to deepen ACCI’s contribution to Nigeria’s economic development.

He said the position was created following a resolution reached at the 2025 Executive Committee Retreat.

“The purpose of the creation of the office is also to enhance service delivery to members and deepen contributions to Nigeria’s economic development.

“The committee unanimously approved Temitope’s appointment in recognition of her dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions to the chamber’s growth and development.

“We are confident that she will continue to discharge her responsibilities with the same commitment and diligence that have distinguished your service to the chamber,” he said.

The ACCI president further said that the creation of the office was intended to reinforce ACCI’s role in advancing private-sector development and national economic growth.

The director-general of ACCI, Agabaidu Jideani, congratulated Ms Temitope on her appointment.

Mr Jideani said that before the appointment, Ms Temitope served as deputy director at the ACCI Business, Entrepreneurship, Skills, and Technology (BEST) Centre.

He said she was subsequently appointed director of the centre, where she provided exemplary leadership and contributed significantly to entrepreneurship development, capacity building, and institutional growth within the chamber.

In her acceptance remarks, Ms Temitope expressed profound gratitude to God, Mr Obegolu, the committee, the management council, and the entire leadership of the chamber for the confidence reposed in her.

She described her appointment as both a great honour and a reflection of the chamber’s institutional growth.

“This position reflects the chamber’s continuous growth and commitment to excellence. I am deeply honoured to have been entrusted with this responsibility,” she said.
